I'm going to get better with blogging....

I can not believe how long it has been since I've posted anything... I have been crazy busy with student teaching so that's a good excuse! I can't believe how fast student teaching flew by, I have exactly 10 days left... 8 of them are soloing and the other 2 I get to team teach. THEN I GRADUATE!! I'm so excited... It can't come soon enough! I will post some internship photos soon!

Miss Little

I started student teaching this week! It is so much fun! I still feel very overwhelmed & worried I'm not doing what is expected of me. I'm just like that though, I worry if there is nothing to worry about. I visited my second placement Wednesday, 6th Grade at Hibbett. The kids were so funny and I saw several familiar faces because I observed so much at Hibbett last year. My teacher was very sweet and will be a lot of fun to work with. The team I'm on is a blast, and some of my fellow friends from UNA are student interns on the same team so its a lot of fun.
Thursday I started my first placement at Webster Elementary, I LOVE IT!!!! The kids are so sweet, our class is absolutely precious! I love them all! My teacher is SO helpful and is going to be such a dream to work with! I'm really lucky to have such great placements and cooperating teachers. I start teaching a few lesson Monday, mainly in the morning and then I will just watch her teach the rest of the day and help out when I can. I'm being observed by my UNA supervisor Thursday morning so hopefully that will go well. I'm already nervous about next week, but I feel very comfortable in that class so that's a good thing.

The Big Apple!

I love New York so much! It is greatest place ever to me! I was lucky enough to get to visit New York twice this year. I went with my mom on our annual New York trip back in May and we had the best time! And I just got back from New York with my sister-in-law, LeAnn. We had a lot of fun as well! It was LeAnn's first time in nyc so I was a proper tour guide.....5th Avenue, Greenwich Village, Crumb's, and Restaurant Row! My favorites!! We laughed on the way home because LeAnn didn't get to see the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, you know the things most people go to New York to see. haha! Thats what LeAnn gets for going to New York with a shopaholic like me! I have a feeling she didn't mind, she is a lot like, me we both love to eat and shop. My dad teases me and tells me I'm just doing my part to keep the economy stimulated! Hey... I do what I can!

So our last day in NY we went to the Madame Tussuads wax museum, it was close to our hotel and we were running low on money so we had to take a break from shopping! We had a blast making stupid pictures though! haha!

Student Teaching!

Yay! I'm so excited I know where I will be student teaching this fall!! And I couldn't be happier with my placements! After a bad day at the eye doctor, I could only have lasik on my right eye because of some complication with my left eye, I got the letter telling me where I was placed. That was what I needed to lift me up a bit, I feel like I've worked so hard in the classroom and I'm ready to be out in the school systems working with kids. I will be at Webster Elementary in Muscle Shoals from August 27-October 16. That is my lower placement, I will be teaching 2nd grade!!! SO EXCITING! From October 19-December 15 I will be at Hibbett Middle School here in Florence, I absolutely LOVE this school! I will be teaching 6th grade at HMS and that is my pick of any grade to teach! So lets just say I'm ready for the fall, I can't wait to start student teaching!!! I know I shouldn't wish my summer away but I'm very excited for whats to come!
The fall will also bring more trips to the Huntsville Laser Center and another eye surgery in December. I must admit, I kind of enjoy the Huntsville doctor trips because I get to eat at PF Chang's and SHOP, and those of you who know me well know my favorite things are eating and shopping!

Happy 4th of July!!

I spent 4th of July in Russellville at my brothers race track! He had his big annual 4th of July race! It was awesome, they had a fireworks show that was pretty impressive. My mom and I worked the concession stand and Dan did the grilling. After the race Dan and I went to one of his friends house for a 4th of July gathering! Overall, we had a very fun holiday!

Happy Birthday to you!

Well Dan's birthday was Monday and I had big plans for a surprise party but things just kept falling through! So Dan knew something was up but we ended up having the best time. It was just friends hanging out, grilling, and playing bocce ball tournaments! I got Dan a grill for his birthday and we all enjoyed the best chicken and hamburgers.

I also had Dan a birthday cake made.... I was so happy with how it turned out!!

Everyone really enjoyed the cake, I ended up showing Dan the night before because I was so excited for him to see it! I'm not very good with surprises! (giving or receiving)

New to blogging!

Just what I need... another addiction to keep me from doing things that I need to be doing! Well I've been wanting to start a blog and I figured what better time to start one then when I need to be studying for my First Year Teacher final tomorrow morning! Oh well, studying is over rated! Anyway, I'm just trying to get the hang of this blog thing so stay tuned!
